SuperTux (2003)

Tux and Penny were out having a nice picnic on the ice fields of Antarctica. Suddenly, a creature jumped from behind an ice bush, there was a flash, and Tux fell asleep!

When Tux wakes up, he finds that Penny is missing. Where she lay before now lies a letter. "Tux, my arch enemy!" says the letter. "I have captured your beautiful Penny and have taken her to my fortress. The path to my fortress is littered with my minions. Give up on the thought of trying to reclaim her, you haven't a chance! -Nolok"

Tux looks and see Nolok's fortress in the distance. Determined to save his beloved Penny, he begins his journey.

This very cutesy platformer seems easy enough in the first levels, but gets harder.

    Yeah, penguins are cute. ;) I guess Linux users really like penguins becuase of the associated Linux penguin. See Pingus (freeware Lemmings clone) with Penguins in them.

    Thx, mr. G, I couldnt find the license in game folder...

    Ive finished the game, it's really too easy, unless you want to collect all coins or finish it in one go (that is a challenge, since if you restore the game after losing all lives you lose all your points too).

    Oh, and this cute penguin has sth to do with Linux I believe... Linux users, this game is for you! ;)

    I read this as saying as long as our distribution is non-commerical and we do not remove any documentation we are free to distribute it.

    Excellent Mario clone set in the world of ice and penguins - I guess this must be Antarctica :p . Game is a bit on the easy side, but Ive finished only a couple of first levels, so I may be wrong. Superb graphics, smooth animation, lively music - what more Mario fan needs?
