Christmas Quest 2: The Yuletide Flows In (2006)

by Adventure Gamers

A sequel to Christmas Quest 1, one-room escape game designed by members of Adventure Gamers site team. In first installment, Dork, a nerdy-looking boy and dedicated follower of point'n'click genre received the Christmas gift he had always wished for: The Best Adventure Game Ever! But it was not that easy to open the package. Sequel finds our hero finally putting CD into a drive when suddenly strange loud noise comes from the kitchen. Again, Dork will have to wait to play his dreamed-of game...

Christmas Quest 2 features two rooms, two characters and puzzles which mostly require manipulating objects in inventory.

Discussion on our forums on Christmas Quest 2: The Yuletide Flows In

  • Chroelle :
I am going with a ditto to that one, as that was my thoughts exactly after playing this. I am glad I finally found time to play this tonight. :)
I am once again in the holiday spirit, and thinking that we should get our hands on the third installment of this game. :)

Ok, so I tried it. Imo it's much better than predecessor, because it tries to be at least short adventure instead of escape the room game. Puzzles are quite easy and mostly require manipulating inventory and I also didnt like the fact that time-puzzle can be done by trial and error without knowing where's the solution. But characters are likeable with little elf playing Max (from Sam'n'Max) and being only slightly less nasty, backgrounds and animations are very well done for such a small game and music suits nicely. Overall, I had fun and always wanted to finish the game, never fighting the urge to exit, delete it and forget it.

Small hint for guys behind the production: the font you used in this game is awful. Dont do this again. :ninja:

Yes, the game works on my computer, but I downloaded it about two years ago. Will upload it to the FTP server.

Edit: Done! You can find it in my folder...

  • Chroelle :
Nope. Found that too yesterday, and it is the same mirror as they link to from AGS...
    But thanks though.
Did it work on your computer?

  • Pater Alf :
I have it on my computer, but won't find to upload it till next week.

But maybe this download link works:

  • Chroelle :
Does anyone have this one on their computer as I get a corrupt archive error message when I try to extract this?
  • Pater Alf :
It's the 11th of october today, so it's time to submit the first christmas game of the year... ;)

You're a little boy and you sneak down the stairs to look for the presents Santa brought you. And there it is: The Best Adventure Game ever! Just the second you want to start playing, you hear a strange noise from the kitchen and before you know what happened you´re in the middle of an adventure yourself. You have to help a stupid elf and save your house and it won´t be easy...

"Christmas Quest 2: The Yuletide Flows in" is a short adventure, but it has nice graphics, challenging puzzles and lots of references to classic adventures (like the frozen hamster in the freezer).

Not the best adventure ever, but quite funny and a nice seasonal game.
