X-Moto (2005)

by Xmoto

X-Moto is an arcade physics-based motorcycle game bearing similarities to popular commercial title, Elasto Mania.

The goal in each level is to reach the finish, sometimes collecting all strawberries/cogwheels (depends on version you play) scattered around the map. To be successful player must navigate through the series of slopes and gorges, perform wheelies and stoppies and avoid spiky obstacles called "wreckers". To add to the difficulty, driver's body can never touch any part of the scenery, because in such case level must be restarted.

X-Moto relys heavily on international community. Majority of the downloadable thousands of levels were created by fans and game has been translated to many languages.

Bottom note: game is very hard and may discourage even the most skilled players.

Discussion on our forums on X-Moto

  • Pater Alf :
I'm not sure if I'm patient enough to learn how to handle the bike. So far this is not my cup of tea and I think the game is extremly frustrating...
  • Drasir-Vel :
I just never get tired of playing this. This is a game i return to regularly. It can be really fun once you've learned to handle it.
  • Drasir-Vel :
I agree on that. Almost all the levels are made to challenge intermediate or pro players, and are not some you can just have fun with. That is something i also dislike. But there are a few.

This is indeed an Elasto Mania clone with all the benefits and more. It is also very difficult and lack a sort of introduction to the game. I tried out some levels for the first time around and none of them where within my capabilities of completion. It would seem to me that a community has grown around this, which are creating levels to challenge eachother. That is quite good actually since it makes for longlasting gameplay, but it is also very hard for me as a casual gamer to enter their realm and find a level that I can finish rather easily...
I did figure some things out after a while and that makes that game one to come back to some time.

A challenging 2D motocross simulation where physics plays an all important role. You must control your bike to the extreme and near the impossible. Extremely fun once you're good at it. Your objective is to collect strawberries, and once you have all, to find the sunflower and complete the level.
Do not mistake this with the shareware game Elasto Mania. This is an independent open source clone.
There is a couple hundred levels in the basic package, but you can connect to the internet and get thousands of others.
