Super Mario 3: Mario Forever (2009)

by Softendo

This Mario-remake is extremely wellmade, and oozes the charm of the original. The feeling is similar to the originals, and as such should attract your attention if you were hooked on Nintendo some decades ago.

The game is once more about completing levels in the quest to...fill in Mario style quest here... and jump stuff, and slide down tubes. Well I think everyone who found the internet and is able to get to this page also knows how Mario plays and feels.
So enjoy!

Note: This game has been the target of some controversy around the web. This being because it was released with a toolbar that showed in Internet Explorer but not in Firefox, and couldn't be removed without removing the game as well. We succeeded in finding a later-released version without the toolbar.

NOTE: There is an expansion pack (so to speak) with more levels, that you can also download from our site.

Discussion on our forums on Super Mario 3: Mario Forever

  • Chroelle :
After 4 years of waiting the game is now made available from CWF under the name Super Mario 3: Mario Forever:
    http://www.curlysworldoffreeware.com/games/view/829

Oh and we also host the levelpack "Lost Map".

  • Chroelle :
    Very cool bump!
  • Drasir-Vel :
    *bump*

If anybody is looking for the version without the toolbar, it can be found here: http://download.cnet.com/Mario-Forever/ ... 44975.html

  • Chroelle :
The game was never accepted due to it being installed with a toolbar installation that the game was dependant of. So we consider it to be adware or similar, and devided we wouldn't host it. However there are other versions as eMTe describes in his first post.
  • JKSM :
I think it was JKSM who had all the info on this game, not sure about that though.

I do remember seeing something about the creator feeling very peeved off that it was stolen, and the thieves were charging money for it, so he released his own free version.

Will try and find the thread on OG about this, and post the link.

The game mentioned by eMTe, Mario Forever is different from the one that I mentioned on OG, Mario & Luigi. Both are freeware. There are many Mario clones out there. Mario Forever is created using Multimedia Fusion while Mario & Luigi is created using Turbo Pacal.

For Mario Forever, long ago I've only tried a little but haven't long played long enough to see what errors it has.

Game creation softwares made by the clickteam (Klick N Play, The Games Factory & Multimedia Fusion) are user friendly, with drag and drop interface and no programming knowledge is required to use it. Years back, I love using their software to create games. However, the cons of their software is that the end created product has a huge file size many times larger than a game written using a programming language. Another problem is that to use the software or play the game created by the software, one's PC need to have a certain amount of memory (RAM) and certain dlls that come with the software. I have ever given friends some things that I created or tried on another PC and found such error messages occurring. Conclusion: I love using The Clickteam software for game creation :) but the created game may not be compatible with a number of PCs due to hardware requirement. :( Thus, I would not be surprised if anyone would find error messages popping up when playing games created by using the clickteam software.

  • eMTe :
The link I gave comes from buziol games page, the only problem is that I dont remember if I downloaded MF from there... I asked about this problem on mario forum.
  • Chroelle :
Yes that was the one. Could you please look into wether this game is the original or the stolen one eMTe. I don't have the time right now, but wouldn't it be a good idea to get a hold of the original creator and then offering his game here???

  • Chroelle :
So actually this might be that very same game. I will divert Pridys attention to this thread.
  • eMTe :
I got to world 3 level 4 and before this level game crashed and I received the message "there's a problem with multimedia fusion application" or sth like that. I'll check game's forum for solution...some day... :p
