Cave Story (Doukutsu Monogatari)

This is an excellent adventure / platformer, where you control a little robot who is trying to save mimigas (creatures which are similar to rabbits) from the bad doctor. There's an interesting story and you even have the chance to upgrade your health and your weapons (you can choose between different ones after you found them). You also have the chance to save at various points during the game, so you don't have to start at the beginning of a level over and over again.
