- Download server change by Maz on 29.11.2006
Hi dee Ho Folks!
I have not so pleasant duty to announce that some downloads will be down at least untill the end of this week. (It's 29.11.2006 now) That's because we needed to take down one of our download servers, and I do not have time to upload & link games to new server before the weekend. Fortunately this concerns only some of the first games I have uploaded :)
-Maz - New head of design by Chroelle on 27.11.2006
Simply wanted to announce that Dizi has told us that she doesn't have time to be responsible for design anymore, but will still be in coding group. Madsolsen has thus taken over after her, and is now the one to contact about design positions.
Feel free to apply for design group. :D
- Registration problems? by Maz on 22.11.2006
I am sorry but due to countless spam bots I had to modify the registration page a bit. If you have problems with registration please mail at me (Mazziesaccount@gmail.com) or to Chroelle.
-Yours EX coder Maz
Ps. Our new main coder Zyx might need a hand. You out there, if you know how to do php & have time & enthusiasm to help, just PM to Zyx... :) - Freeware and CWF by Chroelle on 16.11.2006
First of all, I can tell you that lots and lots of quality freeware games have been added, with lots and lots of Linux and Mac versions. Game hunters have been effective. Since Zyx has taken over, a lot of debate have started up regarding different coding issues, and madsolsen that joined us yesterday has already started contributing banners and such in the design-departement. He is currently working on an icon for the game-threads in freeware forum.
At the same time, I have started out a new idea, to get permission for hosting certain copyrightet games on this site. So far we have succeeded with Harald Hardtooth. More will come. Go write a game you think could become freeware in the Nostalgia thread: "Abandonware to freeware."
All in all things are going great.
Looking forward to reading you in the forums.
Chroelle, the proud owner of CWF. - Welcome Zyx by Chroelle on 02.11.2006
Since Maz had very little time to do lots of work for the site at the moment, we decided that Zyx would be great to have a s a master coder instead of Maz. Maz wont be replaced, but simply partnered up. (Maz was the primus motor behind this decision).
Zyx has now joined, and is looking through Maz's code to do work for the site. Coders can propably expect PM's soon on what to grab on to.
Designteam still needs members as they have a few assignments and Dizi is alone at the moment. We have the basic design for version 1.0 ready, but still need a few features.
Gamehunters are being slowed down by me at the moment, as I am the only one that doesn't have time and internet reliability to do what I should
Expect more games to be added in the near future, since lot of games have ben validated and not added yet.
Please look through recent topics in feedback forums, as there are a few things I would like you to answer to make the best possible site....
Regards

- Game hunters by Chroelle on 18.10.2006
We are moving fst forward in the game validation and adding area. If you like playing games, and dont mind that they are not huge commercial games that you paid a bunddle for, please write eMTe or me (Chroelle) a Private Message (PM) and tell us that you are ready to become a game hunter along with the rest of the dedicated Game hunters, who have now validated close to 40 games (IIRC).
We could use more to speed things even more up, so that we even faster can become (one of) the best freeware gamesites out there.
We are looking forward to hearing from you. There are no excuses for not writing a pm :). You are also welcome to ask us questions about what Game hunters do and what we ask of you.

- Apologies.. by Maz on 20.09.2006
I am sorry but we encountered some database problems. Some of the games / screenshots may be temporarily unavailable. If your download does not work, please contact us at the forums or by email :) We are working with the problem, and I believe it is solved soonish.
We are also having some discussions going on about some re-organizing of the coding team. I hope discussions will be fruitfull, and result the development to continue a bit faster ;) Perhaps we soon see the version 1.0 of this site.. (Current version is the 0.1 pre beta, and it was originally meant to be just a temporary testing version...) New version should improve usability of the site, provide decent outlook and state the purpose of CWF as a freeware site more clearly. And development is meant to go on, release (2.0?) has been already planned, and it should include some new features too...
-Maz (a.k.a Faded Mind) - This site still needs workers by Chroelle on 04.09.2006
If you have always dreamed of working for an internet-site but don't have the skills to either code nor design then please take a look at this site. We are willing to offer you a trial as a Game hunter for this site. If you work hard and we find you to be a stable member, then we can use you.
Apply to Chroelle
If you are thinking WHY DONT YOU NEED CODERS AND DESIGNERS - then please reread the last section once more... I didn't say that. We really do need coders and designers too. Please apply to Fadedmind for coders and Dizi for designers.
- IM BAAAACK.... by Chroelle on 03.09.2006
Just a short message to say that my internet absense ended Sunday evening, and I will now be back getting this site running as well as possible..
We still need coders since FM will have less time to come in here from now on... August 2006
- Development News by Maz on 15.08.2006
Hi dee Ho again!
Dizi has come up with some not yet 100% finished design ideas! I must say I do like those, and we can be proud of her ^_^ I can barely wait she finishes them and we can start changing the outlook of the site :) I have already grew quite tired to this pre beta outlook :D
Another thing... It may be that my time on CWF will drop near zero at the autumn. So in order to keep the development going on, we do need someone who is willing to do quite a lot of work for the site... I will of course do what I can, but it seems that won't be too much.
So.. Your forum calls you, if you think you can help, please answer :)
Your's truly:
-Maz formerly known as Fadedmind, before that as Guest852 and even earlier as... maz. - Help needed! by Maz on 08.08.2006
As you have probably noticed, this site is still under development. Lot's of things need to be done before we can lean back lift our legs on the table and relax. Lot's needs to be done before we can proudly say: "This site is pretty damn good and no wonder because I was doing it!"
Anyways, that's our goal. And I do genuinely believe we can achieve it together. So if you think this site deserves to grow and have some free time we can perhaps offer a crew job for you.
Currently we need:
1. "Game Hunters" (people validating games & filling the needed details) Apply to Monteque.
2. Designers, Apply to Dizi
3. Coders (php). Apply to Maz
Probably the best method to reach us is via Private Message on the forums.
Because this is a freeware site and we do believe that giving out for free does also give something back to you we do not pay for your time. Actually none of us gets paid. Furthermore some of us actually lose money to cover hosting etc... But we... - Pre beta version of the site launched! by Maz on 01.08.2006
Pre beta version of the site is launched!
There's still lots to be done, and I believe the current version is full of bugs. Also due to improvenments we're doing the site can be expected to be down at times. Anyways, It's now easier to add games to the site, and I believe we will have some of them added quite quickly. All bugs should be reported to fadedmind, I'm gratefull for all help :) And don't worry friends, even though the site may look ugly at the moment, I'm sure our Design team led by lovely Dizi will take this baby into their hands :) Anyways, Enjoy
It has been a pleasure to work for this site :)
